‘Shop with a purpose, leave with smiles.’ In the great line up for Malhar, the students of St. Xaviers College, Mumbai organised a Yardsale at St. Peter’s Church, Bandra, on Sunday, 6th August. The sale took place right after the morning mass and was on from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. This sale was student driven and it reached the height of perfection with the wonderful organising committee attracting crowds of people from all walks of life greatly intrigued with what the students had in store for them.

This year the theme of Malhar 2023 is Eye of the Storm and it symbolises the calm and the chaos of life and how we embrace. The students of St. Xaviers College conducted this yard sale to embrace the calm. They had a huge plethora of items on sale like books, novels, paints, jewellery, stationery, home decor and bags. Surely something anyone and everyone would enjoy, without feeling guilt as all the earnings collected from the sale would be donated to a charitable fund. What better way than giving back to society with a little fun and a lot of shopping!

All the items on sale were kindly donated by the students of St. Xaviers College, embracing the backbone of Malhar, sharing bonds, happiness, positivity and most importantly love, not only amongst the students of St. Xaviers College but also our less fortunate friends. Hence the students decided to colour coordinate wearing red!

Despite ample goodies being collected, everything was sold out. Not one left the stalls without a smile on their face, as in their heart they knew that they had just helped someone who needed that little extra helping hand.

With the joy of giving and sharing happiness, St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai, is ready to take over the storm on 13th, 14th and 15th August this year.
