The Bandra West Football Association (BWFA) officially kickstarted its 22nd Annual Bandra League – BWFA 2025 on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at the iconic Dr. Norman Lewis Ground (Supari Talao), Bandra West.
Organized under the auspices of the Mumbai Football Association (MFA), the Bandra League is one of Mumbai’s most eagerly awaited grassroots football tournaments. It brings together local clubs, players, and fans in a celebration of community football while maintaining professional standards under MFA and FIFA regulations.
Tournament Format: League-cum-Knockout
The BWFA 2025 will once again follow a League-cum-Knockout format, ensuring fierce competition and a balance of opportunities.
- Bandra Premier League (BPL): 12 teams, including 10 from last season and 2 promoted sides.
- Bandra Division 1 (BD1): Returning teams from 2024, along with relegated BPL sides and new entrants.
Promotion and relegation remain central to the competition, raising the stakes in every match.
In addition, this year’s league features six categories, making it the biggest edition to date:
- Bandra Premier League (BPL)
- Bandra Division 1 (BD1)
- Bandra U14 Boys – Late Hugh Fernandes Memorial Trophy
- Bandra U10 Boys – Late Morgan Gonsalves Memorial Trophy
- Open Men’s Veterans Tournament – Late “Sir” Sydney Alexander Memorial Trophy
- Open Girls/Women’s Tournament
