The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has released an official list of Ganesh idol immersion sites across Bandra, Khar, and Santacruz. These designated sites aim to ensure a smooth, safe, and eco-friendly Ganesh Visarjan experience for all devotees.
To manage the large crowds expected during the ten-day festival, the BMC has arranged natural immersion spots and artificial immersion ponds in key areas of the western suburbs of Mumbai.
Natural Ganesh Idol Immersion Sites in Bandra & Khar
Devotees preferring traditional immersion in natural water bodies can use the following locations:
- Bandstand Promenade, Bandra West
- Chimbai Jetty, Bandra West
- Carter Road (near Amphitheatre), Bandra West
- Khar Danda Jetty, Khar West (Harbamauli, Varin Pada & Patil Pada)
Artificial Ganesh Idol Immersion Ponds in Bandra & Santacruz

- Swami Muktananda Park, Saraswati Road, Saraswat Colony, Santacruz West
- Chimbai, Bandra West
- Jijamata Garden, Bandra West
- Sherly Village, Carter Road (road beside Oceanic Building, near Buddhavihar)
These artificial ponds are especially recommended for household Ganpati idols and are part of BMC’s green initiative to reduce pollution in Mumbai’s natural water bodies.
